TOPIC: I'm going to root my nook

I'm going to root my nook 2 Years, 3 Months ago Karma: 2
I'm planning on rooting my nook on my next day off from work. I've been trolling around nookdevs and Trook sounds like a really cool app. I'm assuming that everything is going to be reset. Has anyone had trouble after rooting?

Dude, I'm right behind you ... but BEHIND you - let me know how it goes.

I'm interested to know if you can adjust the app bar icons because the icons I saw on rooted nooks was UGLY ...

Yea, good luck. Let us know how this adventure goes for you. Hopefully there is a way to restore it to factory settings if things go wrong, but nookdevs do seem like they know what they are doing.

I did it today! Make sure you backup first (the nookdev site warns about it), because it will clean the nook-clock. But it was a simple process and simple to restore books back to directories. If it doesn't suit then you can just load back to 1.0.0 and then upgrade to the current Barnes and Noble firmware. Pretty cool.

Barbara,

Did your nook re-sync itself with your B&N library after you rooted it? Does your nook run any faster?

Thanks.
