I made one over the weekend. Following the trend of this thread, I'll just link to a blog post with pictures.

My slacker nookjacket 2.0 might go with fabric instead of paper, but for now, I'm happy.

yes, I guess it will depend on the "feel" you like and what you are comfortable with. I prefer the "real book" feel myself. I bought the Alice in Wonderland on line when I got my nook. I love this cover. I do not bend the cover back to read, to me that would be paramount to bending a book cover back! LOL THAT I'd never do. Anyway, the "Alice" cover is great and it has a pocket on the inside. Now I am one that does read a lot of books and I was in the store last weekend and saw that they now had covers in-store. I saw another cover that I just had to get, it has a quote "A good book is the best of friends" on the cover and the rest of it - the same today and forever." It had to be sent to me even though I paid for it in the store. I love this cover as much as the "Alice" cover. It is green and feels like a nice, soft, buttery leather.

Having two covers will give me a sense of reading different books! LOL

But I do prefer the book covers that give me the feeling of reading a "real" book.
Have fun choosing!
Cheers,
Elizabeth

I got a silicon form fitting white/translucent frame w/ back that gives me a great grip on it. No need to harvest more beasts for their hide just to cover
my nook. I like it see-through in case I decide to get a skin for the back and frame itself. Plus white will prevent the nook from getting hot from the
Sun outside.

I have a matte screen protector set on its way.

I'd like to get something to actually slide the nook into for traveling. I'll keep my eye on something neoprene or maybe the stiff molded shell cordura
type cases you can get for your CD's and other things.

I have the Tupper Quote cover and LOVE it. I like that it protects the nook, when I open and fold the cover back, it gives me a little more to hold on to, and it has a couple of pockets that makes it easy to carry stuff (like the weekly code for the new free book).

I just saw the waterproof cover on Amazon and am very tempted to get that. When people ask if I like my nook, I say I love it but can't read in the tub. With that I would be able to. I've also seen some of the skins and am tempted to get one of those just for the design features. We shall see.

For full time protection I am using silicone frame and screen protectors. For weekend backpacking, I picked up a Dry Pak from REI. The nook fits in snuggly and I can still use both the touch screen and side page buttons so the nook is always in the Dry Pak. Hint: Load the nook in top side first, otherwise the Dry Pak clips will obstruct the nook's power button.

I just purchased my Nook a couple of days ago but spent part of yesterday searching through the 1000s of covers out there. I wanted something to protect it esp. in my purse and make it seem more "book-like" without adding too much bulk. I also wanted something a bit unique. I looked at the covers at Oberon and they are indeed works of art but out of my price range. So I kept looking. I especially liked the self-made ones but I don't have a drop of creativity myself so looked at etsy.com which is full of creative people. One vendor even made some covers out of Dr. Suess book covers which were very cute. But I finally settled on one of these (settled isn't the right word) and I think I am going to love it. The vendor was very nice and responsive. I realized immediately after I had placed the order that I had ordered one that said "only for the kobo", and the kobo is a half inch shorter than the nook. I emailed her and she emailed me right back that she happened to have enough material to make it into a nook cover and would have it out to me in a week.
